Sr. Manager of Inventory and Operations
We are established and growing and need a Sr. Manager of Inventory and Operations to grow with us and join our team in our 56,000 square foot Fulfillment Center located in Taylor, Michigan.
Core Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for the management of all inventory related activities and expanding into operations including, but not limited to:
- Forecasting
- Reordering Inventory
- Inventory Accuracy
- Space Planning
- Fulfillment operations.
- Packaging operations.
- Compliance with existing procedures as well as implementation of process improvements.
Keys to Success:
- Lead – effectively lead the team. Equip them with the tools, training and inspiration to excel.
- Support the Sale – Ideal candidate will work closely with the sales team to ensure that all needed inventory is
identified and secured in a timely manner to meet customer demand. - Work closely with the Packaging Team to make sure that product is available to enable the team to adhere to
the packaging schedule. - Work closely with the Fulfillment Team to support their efforts to prepare customer orders to meet required
ship dates. - Be a problem solver – be creative with staff and other resources to support the efficient, effective processing of
the workflow. - Be positive – Avanti is a publisher of humorous greeting cards. Help to support providing an environment that is
in alignment with our fun products. - Be an effective communicator. The Sr. Manager of Inventory and Operations will interact with most every area
leader in the company. The right candidate will be comfortable and confident when working alongside fellow
department leaders. This position also requires frequent communication with external partners. - Be obsessed with process improvement. We are believers in the idea of routinely identifying and implementing
even the smallest of improvements. The ideal candidate will also have their team adopt this same approach to
their day. - Don’t measure to measure, measure to improve. Use existing, and create new, Key Performance Indicators to
better manage the work.
Qualifications Needed:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in a progressive inventory operations role that includes supervisory responsibility.
- Demonstrated mastery of Microsoft Excel. Solid command of the rest of Microsoft Office.
- Tech savvy – always on top of latest technology. Ability to identify automation opportunities where they fit.
- Familiarity with multiple forecasting models.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Prior purchasing experience with strong negotiating skills.
- Exceptionally well organized and detail oriented.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and prioritizing to deadlines without compromising results.
- Lean manufacturing trained
